FOB Newsletter Highlights 9-14-2016

We hope you are having a great second week of school! Thank you to everyone who helped make our very first "First Friday Food Truck" event a success!  We can't wait for the next one.

We have so many fun things planned this year and next on the list is the "EveryONE Counts" Walkathon!!  Please read below for more details and to find out how you can help.

Thank you!

Wednesday, September 21st, 2016 on the Burr School Track During Recess

The Walk-a-Thon is a FUN and FIT activity for all students of Burr School, from PreK to 8th grade. Organized by Friends of Burr, this event helps raise money for our favorite neighborhood school and funds programs such as technology, school beautification, and arts programming.

An info sheet and pledge sheets went home in your child's backpack yesterday.  Sponsors can make their pledges via cash or check (make checks payable to "Friends of Burr").  Online pledges can be made via PayPal at www.friendsofburr.org by clicking on the "Donate" button.  (In PayPal's "Special Instructions" section,  indicate child's name & grade so that they are sure to get credit for the pledge!)  Pledges must be turned in no later than Sept. 21st.

There are awesome individual prizes for highest collected pledges, so ask your neighbors, grandparents, aunts, uncles, co-workers, etc. to sponsor you!

Our Goal is $10,000!

If each Burr Student collects at least $30, we will easily surpass that goal.

Lil' Kickers (Bradley Place) and Lakeshore Sport & Fitness will be providing fun games and activities during the Walk-a-Thon!  And volunteers will be treated to some delicious food thanks to Leghorn Chicken!
