WHAT IS THE GALA?
The Friends of Burr annual Spring Gala is our biggest fundraiser of the year! It’s also a big party where our community of parents, teachers, administration, and community partners can come together and have a good time.
In 2026 we will be in a new venue, The Joinery! Book your sitter now and get ready for a night filled with silent auctions, raffles, contests, and more. Our DJ will be providing some hip jams to boogie to, and the live auction will be something you won't want to miss.
Your ticket purchase includes entry to the event and a wristband for unlimited drinks from 7:00-10:00 pm. After 10 pm it will be a cash bar. We will also have some yummy food to snack on!
This year’s theme is “Burr in Paris!” Come dressed however you feel most comfortable, but we hope to see people get creative. Striped boatneck shirts, berets, neck scarves, lace dresses, high heels, elegant suits, or even a full-on costume: a mime, Madeline, Marie Antoinette, a French maid, a French celebrity, or just wear a French National team soccer jersey!
HOW IT WORKS!
Our Spring Gala includes a silent online auction, a live auction (with auctioneer and Burr alum parent Ian Kaspar), games, raffles, and lots of good times. The online auction will run from April 12th-April 17th with a ton of great items. The auctions will feature a great range of services, products, entertainment, sporting events, and restaurants, so everyone is sure to find something that interests them!
When you arrive at 7:00 you will check in and receive a bidding card that you will need to keep with you at all times - this is how you can bid on items in the live auction. Once you have your bid number and your drink from the bar, you can browse some of the amazing items we have on offer, as well as continue to browse and bid on items we have online. Make sure you get your bids in and watch out for people outbidding you before the closing time! The online auction will close at 11pm that night, at the end of the gala.
In between bidding and mingling, we invite you to check out the ticketed events and parties we have on offer, buy a raffle ticket or three, and participate in one of the activities. New this year - buy your Golden Ticket before you get to the gala! One lucky winner will get their choice of any Live Auction item - for only $100! Only 50 Golden Tickets are available and they are sure to go fast, so make sure you get yours early and secure your chance to win big!!!
Be sure to not miss the best part of the night: Ian Kaspar’s live auction! Select items will be kept aside for him to auction off––and some popular online auction items may turn to live––whether you participate or just spectate, it is always a super fun time. We’ve seen some pretty competitive bidding wars, some of which we still hear stories about today!
